What is the best over the counter Pet Odor Carpet Cleaner?

We rescued a chichuahua puppy this last winter and it wasn’t house broken. So, needless to say the tiny little guy was in no way wanting to go outside in the snow when learning to be poppy trained and wet in the house. I want to clean my carpets completely but I really can’t afford to have them professionally done. I have a Bissell Carpet cleaner but I don’t know what is a good pet odor remover.

Any suggestions?
Doesn’t white vinegar smell though?

While Heloise recommends vinegar and dishsoap, I have found that if you dissolve some baking soda in water, pour it over the wet spot, the smell goes away completely. Last time, I poured it through a coffee filter to take out the larger particles, THEN into my little bottle, so there wasn’t a white ring. It still took care of the smell. AND, baking soda neutralizes what it comes into contact with.

One of my chis has a peeing problem, and this takes care of the couch cushions. And the rug.

Natures Miracle or good old fashioned White Vinegar.

Edit: It does stink initially, but the odor goes away. Haven’t you ever heard of cleaning your coffee pot or de-humidifier with white vinegar? Really, I’d go for the Natures Miracle first. It’s good for the stains and odors. Available at almost any pet supply store, and does smell better than vinegar.
